On May 11, SRA Ministries proudly celebrated the graduation of 110 adult learners from English Levels 1–4 and Citizenship classes. For students like Carmen Zanabria, who experienced her first personal graduation, the celebration represented much more than completing a course—it represented pride, confidence, and new possibilities. Since 2020, SRA Ministries has offered evening English and Citizenship programs at Jubilee Park & Community Center in Dallas and is now seeking partnerships to expand these educational opportunities to more individuals and families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.
On May 7th, SRA Ministries celebrated an unforgettable afternoon of achievement, joy, and new beginnings as 110 adult learners graduated from our English and Citizenship programs. Participants from English Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, along with students preparing for U.S. citizenship, were recognized for their dedication and perseverance. Surrounded by family members, teachers, volunteers, and friends, our students celebrated much more than the completion of a class—they celebrated the confidence and opportunities that come through education.
For some participants, the graduation represented a milestone they had waited a lifetime to experience. “This is the first time in my life that I have experienced a graduation for myself. I feel proud of myself,” said Carmen Zanabria, one of our students. Her words captured the emotion of an afternoon filled with proud smiles, certificates, photographs, and families celebrating together. Maria, another participant, completed her first year of English after beginning in Level 1 – Beginner, taking an important step toward greater confidence and independence in her everyday life.
Since 2020, SRA Ministries has provided affordable and accessible English and Citizenship education for adults in Dallas, with evening classes hosted at our sister organization, Jubilee Park & Community Center, located at 917 Bank Street in Dallas. These programs are designed to help adults strengthen their English communication skills, prepare for citizenship, navigate daily life with greater confidence, and create new opportunities for themselves and their families. Our work demonstrates what can happen when community organizations share resources, classrooms, volunteers, and a commitment to helping families succeed.
Now, SRA Ministries is looking toward the future. We want to see more individuals and families throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex reaching their educational and personal goals, and we welcome opportunities to partner with organizations interested in bringing programs like these into additional communities. From our headquarters hosted by Industrious at Farmers Market Dallas, SRA Ministries also provides immigration process reviews and community support through our Office of Immigration and Community Services. Together with community partners, we believe the story of these 110 graduates can be recreated many times over—building stronger families, expanding opportunity, and creating new stories of success throughout North Texas.
